The Dell 2405 FPW was my choice. Mostly for cost reasons. The Cinema Display is prettier though. I think they use the same LCD, but the Dell is supposed to have better contrast.
Yeah, it has the same LG Philips LCD as the Cinema Display, but the Cinema Display is infinitely more gorgeous. And it's not a Dell, with Dell's horrible tech "support."
I agree that Apple's support is a bajillion times better than Dell's. On the other hand, I've never had to call support about a monitor. And yes, the CD's bezel is a lot nicer looking. But the Dell is technically superior. I've actually seen them side by side, and the Dell's blacks are better (that's really the only thing picture wise). The Dell also has more inputs than just DVI, which is useful for me. I haven't yet done dual monitors using the picture in picture mode yet, but I have played video games with other things open in the PiP so can keep track of them while I play.
Unfortunately, once I had to call Dell about a monitor. It was showing all of the classic signs of a CRT about to expode, and the moron at tech support insisted that I go through all the standard "Is the monitor plugged in?" crap.
