An experiment

Blabbing to the world about Frankenboob really helped me when dealing with cancer, so now the world gets to hear about all my mental health problems. Well, singular mental problem that has been diagnosed by multiple licensed medical officials. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Why did I bother to specify that actual doctors are involved? Because precious snowflakes are constantly self-diagnosing with all sorts of real mental problems and daring the rest of the world to invalidate their claims. I can understand wanting to be special. I can't for the life of me fathom wanting to have a debilitating mental disease.

Being picking about keeping your house clean doors not mean you have OCD, just like being a moody teenager does not mean you have bipolar disorder. And don't get me started on multiple personalities, or headmates, or whatever the hell term idiots use now.

Now that all that's been cleared up, it's time to let the healing begin.

I just had to have it out on twitter with someone advocating for self-diagnosis of mental disorders. Literally arguing that a selfDX should be taken as totally accurate. Boy howdy did I have a problem with that. Like OCD, my disorder is commonly self-diagnosed (or diagnosed by parents) and it has the bonus of often coming with a scrip for commonly-abused drugs.

In all honesty, while I can usually rely on schema to get me through, there have been times in my life where I should have been medicated and forwent it because there was an entirely justified suspicion of people shopping for my DX and getting their study-drugs for use or sale.
